Twilight-my other obsession!

Bella Swan has always been a bit different, never caring about or fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother, Renee remarries and decides to move with her new husband to Florida, Bella decides to go live with her father, Charlie in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington. She doesn't expect anything to change. Then, she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen , a boy unlike any she's ever met. Intelligent and witty, his piercing eyes see straight into her soul. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Edward can run faster than any cheetah, he can stop a moving car with his bare hands, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Most importantly, he's a vampire. Like all vampires, he's immortal. He doesn't drink human blood (they're vampire "vegetarians"), which is rare among the vampire population. Instead, they go on regular "hiking" trips, where they feed on prey such as grizzly bears and mountain lions. For Edward, Bella is the thing he has waited ninety years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. And what will they do when James , Laurent , and Victoria come into town and James sets his sights on Bella? Will true love prevail when Edward is forced to save her life and conquer his thirst? The true question is, "When you can live forever, what do you live for?"

A price above sapphires...

I received a beautiful pair of Sapphire earrings from Brice for Christmas. It's my birth stone and favorite of jewels. As I was looking at them it reminded me of the parable concerning a woman and rubies. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10. That is one of my favorite scriptures.

Australia

What a good guy! Brice took me to the movie Australia starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman. When the movie first started, I leaned over to Brice and told him if he didn't like it he could pick the next movie we saw. But he did like it! And do did I. I cried at least 3 times during the movie. It was an action packed romantic saga! So it had something for him and something for me. The really nice thing was the seats would allow you to sit right next to each other, so we were able to sit really close and cuddle. How fun is that!

The Bohemian Cafe

On Saturday, Brice and I decided to be adventurous in our eating habits so we ventured to this cute little hole in the wall restaurant that Brice knew about. He had gone by it a couple of times and had always wanted to try it out. It was called the Bohemian Cafe. On the outside, I must admit, looked daunting. But we are adventurous and went inside. Inside was a collection of old pictures of Czech heritage and Jim Bean bottle collections. It was cozy and very family welcome. Our waitress wore a red Czech outfit. I think she could tell we weren't regulars and it made her smile at some of our expressions and questions on what we were going to partake. We decided to choose things we wouldn't typically try. Brice ordered, Roast beef ala Esterhazy Hungarian style. This came with a choice of Liver Dumpling soup or the Chicken Egg Dumpling soup which he chose. Also he had the choice of wax beans, sauerkraut or sweet n sour cabbage. He chose the cabbage. I had the Swiss Steak with mushroom gravy, wax beans, and the Chicken Egg Dumpling soup. Also we had the choice of mashed potatoes or Dumpling. We both chose the Dumpling which wasn't quite what we imagined but still good. All in all it was an adventure. Our food was interesting and we did decide we would go back but maybe stick to the safe things we knew like the polish sausage. I would have like to have tried some of the sweet things but there's always next time. Bon' Appetite!

Thanksgiving in Wyoming!

I didn't start my blog until after thanksgiving. But I wanted to share the experience still. I have never been out west before, or at least not as an adult and it was an adventure. I had a wonderful holiday and it was something I'll always remember. Mostly, because I got to meet Brice's family, go hunting and a 1000 mile drive back home. We stayed in a beautiful lil chalet in Jackson, Wyoming and hunted near the Teton's. Orange is the new black! We mostly just drove around looking for Elk coming off the elk reserve, and when we spotted them we did "dropoffs" to help set up a good spot to take the elk down. We walked down some steep ravines into a valley where the river ran. And went into the woods to see what we could find. I think I fell in love with the mountains just as much as I fell in love with Brice. I hope I get to visit Wyoming again soon!

Christmas elves!

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays! Mostly because I love watching the faces of my children. The complete delight in the most simple of things. My two little christmas elves enjoyed their time with Santa.

Bruce Wayne Syndrome

Bats, I absolutely hate them or at least I do now! Ok, let's start a week ago. I'm sitting in the living room and here comes this bat flying around the house. No big deal really. I did hit the deck as fast as I could when it came flying by me but it didn't quite bother me. My dad caught it and released it back to the wild. Aren't we nice, so humane. Ok so Saturday morning at about 4:30am, I here this noise in my room like something hitting the floor, a little tussle and some squeaks. Hmmm... Not sure what to think so I lean over and turn on my light. Aghhh... A bat is flying around my room. Swooping around like crazy. I am just a little freaked. The bat fly's out and I quickly shut the door. Ok, but now I am trapped in my room and can't get out to get help to trap the darn thing. Ok, I live with my parents and share a room with my 2 kids until my divorce is over. My parents room is above mine so I am knocking on my ceiling with a shoe trying to get someones attention at 4:30am. My mom, comes down and turns on the light and sees the bat and of course freaks out and makes my dad come handles the situation. I would like to explain that I am typically noty scared of anything, especially flying rodents. But to be woken from a dead sleep to having to duck for cover is a little unsettling. So my dad catches it and releases back in to wild again!!! Big mistake. Ok, Sunday morning around 1am, I feel something at the end of my bed being attacked by my cat. I reach for the light again and lo and behold the kamikazee bat is flying around my room again. I am so thouroughly freaked. I am hiding under my covers, hoping to god I'm just dreaming this but can I really be that lucky? No, Again I hear my cat attacking the sucker and just as I peek out under the covers it comes flying over my head to land somewhere behind my bed. I scramble out of bed, scream up the stairs for some reinforcments and burst into tears. I'm shaking, and so terrified to go back to sleep. This is were the Bruce Wayne Syndrome kicks in!!! My dad finally finds the winged freak and takes it outside and beats it to death. It needed to die! So today we go all over ths house again to try and find the holes these guys or guy is getting in, sealed them and we are praying we don't have another episode of the last two nights. I really, really hate BATS!!! This happened this fall of 2008.

Love is in the air!

It is truly amazing to me how life can throw you a curve ball and you can either totally miss the opportunity or take a grab for and run with it! That is what I am doing, as your reading this. My little family, Riley, Mckenzie and myself, have had a bumpy year but we have pulled through beautifully. Now, God has graced me with a wonderful guy, who I met in October at a church Singles Conference. And to think I had to be talked into going. What an opportunity, that may have been lost to me. Of course, God has always had his hands in everything and he knows what he's doing. But am I going to pay attention? I hope I have so far:)
